TransCentra Achieves PCI PA-DSS CertificationNovember 18, 2014
Certification ensures credit card payments are securely stored, processed and transmitted
NORCROSS, Ga., Nov. 18,2014 – TransCentra,a leading provider of billing and payment software and services, has now achieved Payment Card Industry (PCI) Payment Application Data Security Standard (PA-DSS) compliance for its Transaction Management System (TMS) retail and wholesale lockbox platform.
Lynn Boggs, CEO of TransCentra, said, “We pursued this certification to help reduce the compliance burden our clients experience. It further validates TransCentra’s approach to ensuring that the important information our clients trust us with is protected using rigorous industry standards. That, however, is only one component of our comprehensive set of logical and physical security controls. Now, when auditors ask any of our clients if they use secure software to process credit card payments, they can simply point to our PCI compliance to meet this requirement.”
The PCI PA-DSS certification was created by the credit card companies as the definitive data standard for software vendors that develop payment applications. The certification is a set of security requirements agreed on by those credit card companies with the intent of providing lifecycle security for credit card information. TransCentra underwent extensive validations of its lockbox platform to secure the certification.
Achieving this distinction simplifies auditing and compliance for TransCentra’s clients, provides assurance that their customers’ credit card information is stored, transmitted and processed securely, and reduces the time auditors must spend on site performing testing and vulnerability assessments. Together, this saves time and resources for the company’s clients.
