TransCentra Delivers Added Cost Savings to Connexus EnergyDecember 17, 2014
Expanded relationship to save company $25K more annually through bill redesign
NORCROSS, Ga., Dec. 17,2014 – TransCentra,a leading provider of billing and payment software and services, announced that Connexus Energy has engaged TransCentra for a complete bill redesign project, which it anticipates will save the company 25 percent in paper cost annually, or more than $25,000. This is in addition to an annual savings on postage of approximately $30,000 realized from Connexus Energy’s implementation of TransCentra’s bill processing platform and View2 tools in 2013, which the companies announced in May 2014.
Ramsey, Minn.-based Connexus Energy surveyed its customer base to determine the components they wished to see on their monthly statements. Based on the survey, TransCentra will repackage the company’s current statement to reflect customers’ preferences and accommodate smaller, 8.5” by 11” paper and outer envelopes. This will complement Connexus’ current use of TransCentra’s Web-based content management tool, Real Time Content Control (RTCC), which allows the company to customize bills and marketing materials and view proofs online, all without requiring additional development labor or resources.
“A complete bill redesign was based on our desire to reduce costs and paper usage,” said Jeff Hendrickson, Connexus’ manager of customer operations. “We created a survey to ensure we kept the elements of our bill that customers value intact. We know from our long-term relationship that TransCentra possesses the creative expertise and industry knowledge to deliver a design for the needs of our company and customers alike. Since implementing View2, our postage costs have continued to decline, and with a redesigned bill we anticipate even greater cost savings while providing the same, high level of customer service.”
Since 2006, TransCentra has provided print billing and consultative services to Connexus. In 2013, Connexus gained access to TransCentra’s View2 tools to align with the replacement of its legacy customer service software. View2 delivers a single interface to view the entire billing lifecycle, helping companies like Connexus monitor and better control their cash cycles.
“For utility companies like Connexus Energy, monthly statements are the most direct, consistent contact they have with customers,” said Lynn Boggs, CEO of TransCentra. “We are helping Connexus strike a balance between ensuring bills remain a strong tool for communication and customer service while reducing the cost associated with designing, printing and processing paper statements and checks.”
